Excluded from the World Cup team Yuzi Chahal praised Ravi Ashwin for his excellent performance against Australia in the second ODI

Team India thrashed the visitors in the second ODI after registering a crushing win by five wickets in the first ODI against Australia at Mohali. They defeated Australia in the second ODI on Sunday at Holkar Stadium in Indore by scoring 99 runs (DLS method).

With one game remaining on September 27 and the hosts leading the series 2-0, it was yet another resounding victory for the home team. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first to start the game. The visitors, however, suffered as a result of the choice.

Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer put together a 200-run partnership for the second wicket in just 163 balls, despite India losing Ruturaj Gaikwad (9) for a cheap price. A century was also scored by each batter. With six fours and four sixes, Gill hit his sixth century and 104 runs off 97 balls.

Iyer, in contrast, scored 105 runs off 90 balls while hitting 11 fours and three sixes. Ishan Kishan (31 off 18) and KL Rahul (52 off 38) performed well. Suryakumar Yadav eventually demonstrated his T20 skills by scoring an unbeaten 72 off 37 balls.

India scored 399/5 in the first inning, their greatest ODI total. The distance was short, and it appeared that Australia might pose a threat in the pursuit. But it never materialized. Six wickets were shared by Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja took 3/42, while Ashwin took 3/41. Australia lost the game after being shut out for 217.

Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, and David Warner were all bowled by Ashwin, shattering the foundation of the Australian batting order. Several former cricket players and cricket commentators hailed the seasoned off-spinner. Even Yuzi Chahal, who was left off the World Cup roster, praised Ashwin online.

He posted on Twitter, which is now called X, saying, “Ravichandran Ashwin name is enough @ashwinravi99 #Legend.” Chahal was also disqualified from the 2023 Asia Cup. While Ashwin was not selected for the Asia Cup, he was given another shot in the current series against Australia. To see if he can make it to the World Cup or not will be exciting.
