Anirban Lahiri is an Indian professional golfer who presently competes on the PGA Tour and the Asian Tour. He is a committed and hardworking professional who has received numerous awards for both his country and himself, making us all proud. Anirban Lahiri, the son of Dr. Tushar Lahiri, began playing golf at the age of eight years old. His father is an armed forces general physician, and it was he who encouraged, introduced, and backed him in his quest to become a successful golfer. His father shouts that he used to pick up his golf balls and play with them for 15 minutes before night fell. This is when he noticed his son’s interest in athletics, and the rest is history.
In the year 2008, he joined the Asian Tour and began his career as a professional golfer. He won 11 events on the Professional Golf Tour of India in 2009, as well as an Order Of Merit. In 2011, he won the Panasonic Open, and the following year, he won the SAIL-SBI Open for the second time. In 2013, he was rated third on the order merits. In 2014, he won both the CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters and the Venetian Macau Open on the Asian Tour.
He had a very consistent year in 2014, winning two Asian Tour events and breaking into the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time.
