At the age of 19, Tarundeep Rai made his international debut in archery. In 2003, he competed in the Asian Archery Championship in Yangon, Myanmar.
In November 2010, he made history by becoming the first Indian Archery player to win a silver medal at the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.
In addition, he was a member of the Indian Archery team that won bronze at the 15th Asian Games in Doha in 2006.
Tarundeep Rai also competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics as a member of the Indian men’s archery team. In that competition, they came in 11th place.
