Avinash Sable Controversy
In 2018, Avinash Sable made waves when he stated that he would prefer to train with an Indian coach since they are more familiar with the needs of Indian athletes than international trainers. Despite having a contract that ran until 2020, long-distance running coach Nikolai Snesarev quit. This all happened after Avinash opted to train with Amrish Kumar, his army coach. Snesarev has trained several Indian athletes, including Lalita Babar, Sudha Singh, and OP Jaisha.
