Anshu Malik is an Indian wrestler who was born in Nidani, Jind district, Haryana, India, on August 5, 2001. Her father, Dharamvir Malik, was a wrestler who represented India at the World Cadet Wrestling Championships in 1995.
Pawan Malik, her uncle, was a South Asian Games gold medalist. Shubham, her younger brother, is a national-level wrestler. Anshu chose to take up the sport seriously in 2012 and enrolled at Nidani’s Chaudhary Bharat Singh Memorial Sports School, where she trained under Jagdish Sheoren.
She made her National School Games debut in 2016 and earned her first national gold medal in wrestling. Later that year, she won Silver at the Asian Junior Wrestling Championships in Taiwan, earning her first international medal. She also took up a bronze medal at the 2016 World Cadet Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia.
In 2017, she earned a gold medal in the women’s freestyle 60 kg event at the World Cadet Championships in Athens, Greece. She earned two medals a year later, a bronze at the World Cadet Championships and a silver at the World Junior Wrestling Championships.
