Abhinav was a good student and athlete who attended Guru Nanak Public School in Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana, where his mother worked as a teacher. He competed in Gladrags Mr. India Contest 2004. It gave his career a fresh lease on life, as he not only made the top six, but also earned the Mr. Best Potential Award. Following his achievement at the Gladrags Mr. India Contest in 2004, he embarked on a new professional path as a model.
Modeling led him to Mumbai, where he began his acting career in 2008 with the sports-themed TV show Jersey No. 10, which, although being a wonderful show, did not do well due to the fact that drama shows were more popular at the time. After it, he was seen in other prominent TV shows like- Geet, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Hitler Didi, Survivor India (season 1), and Diya Aur Baati Hum. He made his Bollywood debut in Salman Khan’s film Jai Ho, which was a dream come true for him (2014). Though he made his Bollywood debut three years later, in 2017 with Aksar 2 (2017), the sequel to Emraan Hashmi and Udita Goswami’s musical thriller Aksar (2006).
Later, he took part in Khatra Khatra Khatra. He directed Bareilly Ki Beti: The Youngest Survivor, a short film about female foeticide starring his wife Rubina Dilaik. In the year 2020, he and his wife Rubina Dilaik competed in Colors TV’s Bigg Boss 14. He was evicted barely a week before the finale in February 2021.

Abhinav Shukla was born into a Punjab-based middle-class Hindu-Brahmin family. He had an easy childhood because he was born to parents who worked for the government. His father, K.K. Shukla, was an entomologist at Ludhiana’s Punjab Agricultural University, and his mother, Radha Shukla, was a teacher at Guru Nanak Public School in Sarabha Nagar. He has an elder brother who works as a Naval Officer and is an inspiration to him.
In 2015, he met his wife Rubina Dilaik at the home of a mutual friend during the Ganpati holiday. Abhinav was completely charmed by her when he saw her in a sari, and it was love at first sight for him. After seeing her photoshoots, he approached her and asked if he could do hers, and after a few interactions, the two began dating.
After a three-year romance, this lovely couple eventually married on June 21, 2018 in Shimla.
