All Upcoming Games of 2021

The most anticipated games of 2021 and here’s the very best and most anticipated games set to release in the coming months. Here is the latest collection of our most awaited upcoming games for 2021, but stay tuned: as games are released and new titles are announced, we will be updating this list and reviewing it periodically throughout the year.

Life is Strange: True Colors

Life is Strange: True Colors releases September 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

True Colors is the third film in the Life is Strange series, this time from Deck Nine instead of Dontnod Entertainment. That’s not the only change in the game; while it’s still a chapter-based game, it’s now being released as a complete game that can be played from beginning to end. Players assume the role of Alex Chen, who, unlike the previous Life is Strange heroines, has been dealing with her abilities for quite some time. She regards them as a curse because she can sense other people’s emotions and, if they are too strong, she can be impacted by them as well. It’s an intriguing notion and one that should have equally intriguing gameplay effects.

Deathloop

Deathloop releases on September 14 for PC and PS5 (as a timed exclusive).

Deathloop, a time loop game, is becoming increasingly popular, and it may prove to be one of the genre’s greats. Colt is the main character of Deathloop (unless they are in multiplayer, where they control Julianna). Colt’s goal is to kill the visionaries, break the time loop, and escape the island, while Julianna’s goal is to stop him. The main gameplay cycle of Deathloop is retaining that information, learning more about the visionaries, and then coming on the other side as the victor every time he dies.

Lost Judgment

Lost Judgment releases September 24 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Players step back into the shoes of investigator Takayuki Yagami in Lost Judgment, this time investigating Akihiro Ehaha’s participation in the murder of one of his accusers. Despite the obvious seriousness of the tale, gamers may expect soft, comedic moments as well as certain modifications and adjustments to the general gameplay. As a spin-off of the Yakuza franchise, it appears that Judgment will always represent one aspect of the franchise, while Yakuza and Ichiban Kasuga will follow another. There has been some criticism about Judgment, its actors, a PC version, and other issues that may prohibit another game in the spin-off franchise from being released, although overall that seems unlikely.

Far Cry 6

Far Cry 6 releases October 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Far Cry 6 will be released on October 7th, following some delays. Players will take on the role of Dani Rojas (male or female) in the upcoming installment of the long-running Ubisoft game, as they clash with Anton and his kid. There are still a lot of unanswered questions about how that will play out, but fans won’t have to wait long for answers. Furthermore, fans are aware that DLC will be available in which they will be able to learn more about the franchise’s villains, such as Vaas, Pagan Min, and Joseph Seed.

Metroid Dread

Metroid Dread releases October 8 for Nintendo Switch.

Metroid Dread was one of the most unexpected revelations at E3 2021, and the fact that it won’t be out for another several month only adds to the excitement. Not to be confused with Metroid Prime 4, Metroid Dread completes the main plot arc between Samus and the Metroid creatures. Samus must fly to ZDR after seven EMMI robots are despatched there to investigate their disappearances and uncover what else is going on with ZDR.

Back 4 Blood

Back 4 Blood releases October 12 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Back 4 Blood is being developed by the same team behind the original Left 4 Dead, and analogies between the two games suggest that the former is a spiritual sequel to the latter. Given the success of Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood already had a lot going for it. As one of a group of veteran “Cleaners,” players will face battle a horde of Zombies known as Ridden this time around. Whether a player chooses Walker, Holly, Hoffman, Evangelo, Karlee, Doc, Jim, or Mom to combat the undead alongside, everyone has their own personality, which should make for a fantastic time.

Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 2042 releases October 22 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Battlefield 2042 is quickly establishing itself as the definitive Battlefield game. While there is no single-player campaign, the game’s multiplayer features tell a tale. 70 percent of satellites orbiting Earth crash to the globe owing to a Kessler Syndrome Event (a fictional space phenomenon caused by space pollution), resulting in global blackouts and other effects. Tensions due to these events escalate to conflict between the US and Russia in around two years, or by the year 2042. Conquest (two teams fight to seize control points) and Breakthrough (one team tries to capture the other team’s control points) are included in the game mode All-Out Warfare, while Battlefield Portal is a sandbox where players may create their own multiplayer modes and maps. A co-op multiplayer mode called Hazard Zone has yet to be revealed.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy releases October 26 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Despite the fact that it leaked a little early, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy was still an intriguing announcement with a lot of potentials. Guardians of the Galaxy is a single-player adventure in which players control Star-Lord, unlike Marvel’s Avengers, which has struggled as a live-service game. They’ll be able to wield his elemental cannons and jet boots for some ostensibly intense gameplay, as well as give orders to other team members to employ their special skills. After a great intergalactic conflict, the Guardians have been abusing the cosmos to earn quick money, and after a bet between two team members (which seems more like the MCU version’s manner than the comics), the Guardians unwittingly release a threat on the galaxy.

Forza Horizon 5

Forza Horizon 5 releases November 5 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

The newest game in the series, Forza Horizon, sends players to Mexico, along with “hundreds of the world’s best vehicles.” The open-world setting, like the cars, is wonderfully detailed, with each set complementing the other. The open-world is billed as social, evolving, diverse, and adventurous, and maybe the greatest part is that the game is ready to put its money where its mouth is as a Microsoft exclusive (so to speak). When Forza Horizon 5 launches on November 9, it will be available on Xbox Game Pass on the same day as all other exclusives, giving fans little reason not to check it out.

Shin Megami Tensei 5

Shin Megami Tensei 5 releases November 11 for Switch in Japan and November 12 worldwide.

Atlus is working on Shin Megami Tensei 5, which is set in modern-day Tokyo and features both old and new gameplay mechanics. The players take on the role of a high school student who is taken into an alternate Tokyo overrun by demons, where they are forced to fuse with an entity named Aogami in order to become the Nahobino. The game aims to address real-world concerns while also expressing its own unique style of charm and dealing with demons.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl release November 19 on Switch.

For a long time, fans have been demanding Gen 4 remakes, and while the unveiling of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl wasn’t without controversy, many are eager to return to the gen with these new remakes. Fans shouldn’t expect big modifications in order to stay true to the original games, but while little has been confirmed, it’s safe to assume that some features of Pokemon Platinum will appear in both games. In any case, with November only a few months away, Pokemon fans don’t have a long wait ahead of them.

Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 releases December 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

For numerous years, Dying Light 2 appeared to be a myth, but it now has a verified release date of December 7. Players will be leading the new character Aiden Caldwell into The City, which is set 20 years after the original. The City, along with the undead infestation and Caldwell’s parkour talents, appears to be one of the game’s most defining characteristics. It’s divided into seven unique zones, each with its own groups and settlements, and players must choose between saving some and damning others. This causes a shift in the game world’s condition and how NPCs interact with Aiden, with the game’s storey hinged on the repercussions and decisions made.

Call of Duty

A new Call of Duty game is set to release in 2021.

Nothing in the gaming business is as certain as a new Call of Duty game every year, and 2021 will be no exception. Fans know very little about it right now, other than it’s being developed by Sledgehammer Games, which is a bit of a departure from precedent. Prior to Black Ops Cold War, Call of Duty games were generally teased in April or May; however, Black Ops Cold War wasn’t truly announced until late August 2020, possibly due to the use of Warzone and/or the ongoing epidemic. The same is likely to happen with the next Call of Duty game, and given how they usually dominate sales charts surrounding their release, Call of Duty 2021 should do the same.
